COUGH ASSISTANT VENTILATOR

REMOVAL OF BRONCHIAL SECRETIONS

The PEGASO COUGH works as a Cough Assistant Ventilator. It is a ventilation system useful in clearing retained bronchopulmonary secretions. It provides a patient “cough” simulation, applying a positive pressure to the airways, then rapidly going to a negative pressure.   At the end of this pressure shifting, the PEGASO COUGH leaves the airways free at zero or ambient pressure, for a pause time determined by the operator

Insufflation-Exdufflation designed for patients with reduced coughing ability due to the following conditions:

• muscolar distrophy
• myastenia gravis
• poliomyelitis
• respiratory muscle paralysis
• spinal cord injury

Patients with other diseases such as

• emphysema
• cystic fibrosis

• Can be used with a facemask or an adapter to an endotracheal or tracheostomy tube
